GCSE Learning Pathway
Learning pathways at St Aidan’s are designed with the best interest of the pupil at heart, providing each individual access to an appropriate pathway that provides every child the opportunity to achieve success and move on to the next stage of their career and education.
Pupils who follow the EBACC pathway will get ONE choice from a variety of courses listed below.
These courses are a mixture of GCSE’s and BTEC qualifications and will form 8% of your son’s curriculum time throughout Y10 and Y11. As a school, we passionately believe that strong EBACC subjects facilitate greater opportunities for our pupils when they come to make decisions as to higher and further education, training, or employment. However, research is clear that breadth in a school’s curriculum is essential in formulating successful and engaged members of society. Therefore, this choice is designed to allow your son to broaden his horizons and supplement his EBACC studies with a unique course that gives him different challenges and develops his skill base in a variety of different ways.
