Living Our Mission
Our mission is brought to life through the relationships we build, the opportunities we provide and the service we offer to others.
Students are encouraged to:
- Live out Gospel values every day
- Show respect, compassion and forgiveness
- Serve others through acts of charity and justice
- Develop as responsible citizens of faith
- Support those who are most vulnerable in society
The Catholic Schools Inspectorate recognised that students benefit from a "full and rich Catholic life experience" and understand the importance of putting faith into action.
Catholic Social Teaching in Action
Catholic Social Teaching is integral to life at St Aidan's. Through a wide range of charitable and community initiatives, students are given opportunities to respond to the needs of others and make a positive difference in the world.
The CSI report highlighted that:
"Students understand the links between the work that they do and Catholic Social Teaching values, speaking about this eloquently."
Examples of our work include supporting local food banks, helping those experiencing homelessness, fundraising for local, national and international charities, and participating in campaigns that promote dignity, justice and the common good.
An Inclusive Catholic Community
We are proud to be a welcoming and inclusive Catholic community where every individual is respected and celebrated.
The Catholic Schools Inspectorate noted:
"Inclusivity is a priority for all at St Aidan's; the school celebrates the uniqueness of the individual."
Students of all faiths and none are valued members of our school family and contribute richly to our community.
Called to Serve
Inspired by the example of Christ and the witness of St Aidan, we seek to develop young people who lead with humility, serve with compassion and make a positive contribution to society.
As recognised by the Catholic Schools Inspectorate, St Aidan's is a community characterised by servant leadership, lived Gospel values and a deep commitment to ensuring that Christ remains at the heart of all we do.
