Environmental, Green and Sustainable group at the Sunderland City Council

Congratulations to Ahmad, Y8, who became our school’s representative for the Environmental, Green and Sustainable group at the Sunderland City Council.

This involves having to attend four meetings a year to discuss environmental issues across schools in Sunderland and the improvements that can be made, as well as sharing ideas and successes. Ahmad attended his first meeting in January.

He volunteered, then was selected by the council to represent the group at the Shadow board meeting which is all about reducing carbon emissions in schools and the community.

We are very proud of Ahmad, he is a brilliant young leader.
