Daqing Language College, China

Thank you Daqing!

St Aidan’s and St Anthony’s would like to thank Daqing Foreign Language College in China for allowing a group of their students to visit our schools for a week between 6th – 10th January 2020.

Boys and girls. along with their teaching staff from Daqing arrived in the UK on New Years Day for a two week visit to the UK.  Before school starting on 6th January 2020 they visited, Durham, Newcastle and Edinburgh.  They even managed to see Sunderland win at the Stadium of Light!  On Monday morning the arrived at both schools, excited for their week ahead.  They spent the week in classrooms, observing the English education system and making some life long friends.

On Thursday 9th January students had the opportunity to perform for and meet the Mayor of Sunderland before visiting Sunderland University. Before travelling home the group are visiting London for 3 nights to experience our capital.

We know that all students have thoroughly enjoyed their visit, have improved their English and have made memories to last a lifetime.  It has to be said however that our own community is richer for them spending time with us – thank you!
