Sustainable Travel

The Riot Act visited St. Aidan’s to deliver the message of the importance of sustainable travel today. Year Seven were entertained as the drama production team used a variety of acts familiar to the students to explain the benefits of walking, cycling, scootering or going on the bus to schools.  They hi-lighted what sustainable travel is and how the students can engage in this travel in Tyne and Wear.  The students discovered 75% of parents found the car journey to school very stressful and 25% of all car journeys are under 2 miles, which surprised some. The effects of a short car journeys was outlined and how this impacts on the environment. An entertaining afternoon for all.
