Year 6 Transition 2018

July 5, 2018

What an amazing three days!

Our new Year 7 boys joined us on Monday 2nd, Tuesday 3rd and Wednesday 4th July for three fun packed days of transition activities. They entered the school gates with trepidation on Day 1 and left full of joy and excitement on Day 3.  The next stage of their journey in life has well and truly began!

The boys are now well aware of our mission statement of ‘Celebrate life to the full’ and what this means for them once they start full time in September.  They have also been introduced to our core values of hard work, trust and fairness and had time to reflect on what that will mean for them in the new term.

Over the three days the boys were involved in many ‘getting to know you’ activities.  They had a tour of the school whilst completing a quiz and got set up on our school biometric system. They also learnt all about The Catholic Life of our school, our Reading Room activities and the Immersion work that we as a school are involved in. The students also worked with their tutors to complete an ‘About Me’ session and creating their Time Capsule for which they will open in May 2023 when they are Year 11. They also enjoyed learning about the work of our Anti Bullying Team.  They also thoroughly enjoyed our Year 6 Sports Day Inter House Competition where we saw Ashbrooke House win the  overall trophy.

The 3 days were concluded by an inter form Spelling Bee where Corby were crowned as winners.  We then celebrated with a Liturgy at St Anthony’s  with our fellow partnership Head teachers and teachers.

We look forward to seeing you all in September.
