Individual Excellence

October 21, 2019

When you work hard and persevere, great things happen!

Mason, a member of our Year 9 has recently won a Gold medal at a worldwide boxing competition in Denmark.

He has had to sacrifice a lot.  He has had to:

  • Run 2/3 times per week, as well as attend his gym 5 times a week.
  • Hill Sprints
  • Travelling around different gyms to improve on sparring, including Blackpool Sharpstyle boxing gym.
  • Improve his tec work and strength and conditioning.
  • Sticking to a strict diet, which at times has been hard, but he showed true grit and determination and lost the recommended 2.5kgs which was advised by his coach.

Mason had a leg injury, due to the hard routines and hill sprints resulting in him having to see a Physiotherapist just three days before leaving for Denmark.

We are extremely proud of Mason, and what he is achieving. Keep up the hard work.  We know you will go far!
