Wellbeing group

Summary of the activity:

Well-Being club focusses on mental and physical wellness as well as environmental issues. All pupils are invited to join the club and engage in a range of projects working both with the school as well as the local community. The group regularly plans and delivers whole school assemblies and is also part of our One Voice School Council. Some of the projects we have engaged in include litter picking, gardening, crisp packets appeal, and working with a local care home and a local baby bank. Because we believe that everyone has been created to celebrate life to the full, our aim is to support the vulnerable and those in need- we can all make a difference.

Quotes:

‘What a fabulous experience we all had today. The boys were an absolute credit to the school and multi -talented, such polite and friendly boys. Today will be remembered always by us all. You should be very proud’ (a visit to a local care home)

‘It was lovely having you in and we are so grateful. The students were fab, very enthusiastic and have made a huge difference.’ (a visit to a local baby bank)

‘Their enthusiasm and hard work is awe inspiring. They are really keen on growing the veg for the local community. I am so impressed by them, especially as they are staying behind for an hour after a tiring school day.’ (a volunteer helping with gardening)

‘I feel that this project gave him a real insight into the plight of homeless people in the community and it gave him a real sense of purpose that he was able to help them.’ (grandparent commenting on the crisp packet project)
