Lenten Food Bank Appeal

March 28, 2018

After the success of the Christmas hamper appeal St. Aidan’s has continued its effort to collect food for the Connect Network food bank.
Staff and students have continued to make donations in a variety of different ways. Some making monetary donations, others buying Mother’s Day cards and gifts – with the profits made used to buy food items and others making simple food donations. Wilson’s Convenience store has supported and dropped off more donations.
There have been a few classes who have made a great effort but 9 Bede have stood out donating boxes every week – well done.
The shelves in reception are bursting and extra bags and boxes are awaiting sorting before being sent to the foodbank. Another fantastic response from St. Aidan’s Academy thinking of those in need this Easter.
The school is also donating 100 Easter Eggs to St. Mary’s and Burn Park to give as gifts to those who visit the drop in centres for whatever reason.
