Teenage Cancer Trust

October 9, 2017

On Friday 6 October year 10 pupils attended an assembly presented by Rachel Wilkinson of the Teenage Cancer Trust. Although rare – 7 teenagers and young people are diagnosed with cancer every day. The aim of the assembly was to raise awareness of the types of cancer that affect young people, the warning signs and what they should do if they suspect something is wrong. The pupils listened attentively as Rachel also discussed the different treatments and finally what young people can do to minimise the risks of cancer.

The pupils were encouraged to talk and be open about this disease. A very informative session.
